4700 Southwest 74th Street

A spec home in South Miami sold for $5 million, marking one of the highest residential sales in the area.

Property records Ponce 4700 LLC, led by Alexander Palencia, sold the nearly 8,000-square-foot home at 4700 Southwest 74th Street to Masaru Ceja Barba and Peggy Andreina Berti Serrano. Barba, who is from Mexico, and Serrano own Unimat, a Mexican and United States manufacturer of mats and rugs.

The modern home, designed by Hollywood, Florida-based architects O’donnell Dannwolf & Partners (ODP), has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, an infinity pool, cabana, outdoor kitchen, and green walls and roofs. It hit the market four months ago with Ana Sanchez and Yedri Villafane of One Sotheby’s International Realty for $5.9 million. Alina de la Vega of One Sotheby’s represented the buyers.

The architect also designed the the Four Seasons Hotel in Brickell, and is the architect of record for Zaha Hadid’s One Thousand Museum in downtown Miami.

Few properties in South Miami have traded for above $5 million. About a year ago, Bitcoin investor Michael Komaransky sold the nearby home at 7350 Southwest 47th Court for about $6 million.
